The Family of Axel and Hannah Seger

Axel Enoch Svenson/Seger was born December 5, 1864 in Smaland, Sweden. He died June 7, 1955 in Merrill, WI. In his teen years Axel changed his surname from Svenson to Seger (Swedish for English "Victor") Johanna Sophia Anderson Seger was born August 1, 1870 in Norrkoping, Sweden. She died February 6, 1954 in Merrill, WI.

Axel and Hannah were married September 23, 1889 in Norrkoping, Sweden. In 1890 Axel left Sweden to seek opportunities in the New World, arriving first in New York (then New Amsterdam.) He moved to Connecticut in 1891 where he was joined by Hannah. Seeing opportunities in the lumbering industry they soon moved to Merrill where Axel established a career in carpentry.
