Ivar Theodore Seger Ivar graduated from Merrill High School and Lincoln County Normal School. He taught in and was principal of schools in Tomahawk, Pelican Lake and Elcho. He was salesman of a variety of clothing items in Wisconsin and Michigan before joining Metropolitan Insurance Company in Grand Rapids, MI, in the early 1930s. He became district manager in southern Wisconsin for Fidelity Life Association in 1935 and operated his own independent insurance and real estate agency in Clinton, WI until retirement in 1967. For several years he served as a member of the Clinton Board of Education. He also was elected village president for two terms. He was a trustee of the area Y.M.C.A. and was very active in Wisconsin Baptist activities, serving as president of the state Laymen's Association. Much of his church work was centered on expanding programs and improving facilities at the American Baptist Assembly in Green Lake, WI, and at the Tamarack youth camp. He also served as a substitute minister, preaching at numerous Baptist churches throughout southern Wisconsin when they were without regular pastors. Following retirement, he enjoyed writing and was published in both trade journals and the general press. He was a member, and for may years treasurer, of the Raconteurs, a Wisconsin professional writer's club. Married Esther Linnea Kall on June 18, 1924 in Tomahawk, WI. He died at home on July 15, 1991. 89 years, 102 days. Children:
